Oddsmakers think Mike Tomlin could leave Steelers to coach different team
Could Mike Tomlin be pointing toward another NFL team? Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The Ben Roethlisberger era in Pittsburgh seems to be over, and oddsmakers believe that Mike Tomlin could potentially be leaving with him as well.

Online sportsbook SportsBetting.ag released odds this week for the likeliest candidates to be named the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Fourteen total candidates were listed, and the longtime Steelers coach Tomlin surprisingly had the fourth-best odds at 7-1.

Tomlin has been the head coach of the Steelers for the last 15 seasons, so it seems fairly unlikely that he would leave for another NFL team so suddenly, especially after Pittsburgh just earned another playoff berth. Pittsburgh also has a quality core of players such as T.J. Watt, Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool and Cameron Heyward to build around. But the Steelers’ plan for replacing Roethlisberger does not really sound all that inspiring, giving rise to at least some uncertainty with the Steelers' overall future.

In any case, SportsBetting.ag lists Tomlin behind three much more plausible candidates to become the next Raiders coach. They are former Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson at 5-1, current Raiders interim coach Rich Bisaccia at 5-2, and this very well-known name as the 2-1 favorite.
