Odell Beckham Jr made the bizarre decision to wear a luxury watch during the Cleveland Browns’ Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans, and he apparently violated an NFL rule in the process. But until the league speaks to him about it directly, Beckham says he is not planning to make a wardrobe change.
Beckham told reporters on Tuesday that he believes the watch would not have been an issue if any other player wore it or if it were less valuable. He also said the NFL has not spoken to him about it and he will continue to wear it.
#Browns Odell Beckham Jr said he wants it to about football, not the watch. Says if it was anyone else it wouldn’t have been an issue. If $20 watch, not an issue. Plans to wear it again

The watch Beckham wore during Cleveland’s 43-13 loss was a Richard Mille, and it is valued at over $300,000. While there is no rule against a player wearing jewelry, the watch reportedly violates an NFL rule prohibiting hard objects for safety reasons.
It seems unlikely that Beckham will continue to wear the watch if a league official tells him he can’t, but you never know. We all saw what happened with another star receiver this offseason and a piece of his wardrobe. Nothing can be ruled out at this point.
