Packers' Jordan Love, Krys Barnes placed on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Green Bay Packers smashing the San Francisco 49ers 34-17 on Thursday night didn't eliminate the coronavirus issues currently affecting the NFC North outfit that improved to 6-2 on the season. 

Green Bay began its weekend by placing linebacker Krys Barnes and rookie quarterback Jordan Love on the reserve/COVID-19 list. According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Barnes received a positive test result on Friday morning but is experiencing no symptoms. He played 23 snaps in the double-digit win over San Francisco. 

Love shares an apartment with Barnes and is deemed a "high-risk close contact." The Packers used the 26th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft on Love, but the 22-year-old has been left a spectator as starting QB Aaron Rodgers has remained atop or near the top of MVP power rankings through the first full weekend of November. 

Green Bay rookie running back AJ Dillon tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, while ball-carrier Jamaal Williams and LB Kamal Martin went into isolation as close contacts. 

The Packers are one of a dozen franchises dealing with coronavirus or close-contact cases as of early Friday evening. San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne and three others on the team were allowed to exit the reserve/COVID-19 list after Bourne tested negative for the virus a second straight day, leading the club to assume his previous result was a "false positive."
