Packers’ Offense Remains a ‘Rorschach Test’ According to NFL Analyst
Packers' Offseason Acquisition Could Shape 2025 NFL Season 2 Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden is interviewed by the media during rookie minicamp on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers enter the 2025 season with an ascending young quarterback, a tight end who could break out to become a household name at the position, and a fascinating young receiving corps.

Thanks to the arrival of first-round rookie Matthew Golden, Jordan Love, Tucker Kraft, and the young receivers around the former Texas standout could all elevate their games this upcoming season. Especially if Golden’s game-altering speed translates into game-breaking plays at the NFL level.

However, the Packers enter this season, on offense, with much still to prove.

Packers Lagging in Offensive Skill Player Rankings

Over at CBS Sports, analyst Jared Dubin put together a list ranking each team’s collection of quarterbacks, tight ends, and wide receivers, with the Packers falling into the “good but not great” category and entering the season ranked No. 14 in the league.

“Green Bay was actually the team with the most variance,” Dubin writes for CBS. “And the widest disparity in rankings, which feels fitting. This team is kind of a Rorschach test. You can ascribe any belief to what happened with Jordan Love and Co. last season and have it seem right. Love struggled with injuries. Jacobs went nuts. The receivers … were all just kind of there and vaguely productive some weeks and very much not in others. It’s really hard to know what to do with this group, given how 2024 went. Still, there’s a lot of belief in Love’s talent and Jacobs’ production, so they crack the top half of the league.”

Love could easily climb these rankings if Golden is as advertised, and Tucker Kraft makes the kind of leap that many believe that he is capable of in 2025.

While the Packers’ defense made some big improvements in Jeff Hafley’s first season, in 2024, the pressure might be on head coach Matt LaFleur, Love, and the offense to make a more significant leap in 2025 if Green Bay is going to make strides towards winning a championship this season.
