Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is coming off what some are considering to be his best performance of the NFL season following the team's 30-17 Week 6 win over the Detroit Lions. The two-time NFL MVP completed a season-high 22 of 30 passes for 257 yards, while throwing three touchdown passes.
The win allowed the Chiefs to advance to 3-3 as they look to stay in the mix in what appears to be a deep AFC West, as both the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos hold a 4-2 record. While the 30-year-old quarterback is best known for his three Super Bowl rings, and for being in the discussion as the best quarterback of all time, he has also found plenty of success off the field in his non-football ventures.
Aside from dabbling in ownership of the NWSL's Kansas City Current, the MLB's Kansas City Royals and even owning his own restaurant with All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce, Mahomes also does a lot of charity work for his 15 and the Mahomies Foundation.
As stated on the foundation's website, the charity is "dedicated to improving the lives of children. The Foundation supports initiatives that focus on health, wellness, communities in need of resources and other charitable causes."
Mahomes' Volunteer for 15 also encourages youngsters from 11-18 to volunteer with the foundation and help those in need.
On Thursday, Mahomes' success with Volunteer for 15 was put on display, as the page shared that nearly 93,000 hours of service were completed across the world as a result of the foundation and its collaboration with the Youth Volunteer Corps.
"We’re grateful for the incredible partnership @YVolunteerCorps on Volunteer for 15! ," read the post on X. "Thanks to Patrick’s leadership, 2,110 young people dedicated 92,714 hours of service across 194 cities in 5 countries this year. "

Mahomes launched this initiative in 2022 with the goal of helping kids realize that they can help other people, as he revealed to Fox 4.
“I think so many kids in middle school and high school don’t realize how much of an impact they can make in their own communities by helping others,” Mahomes said. “I’m inspired by the YVC youth volunteers, and I can’t wait to see what they accomplish this summer.”
Clearly Mahomes' efforts off the field are paying off in a big way. As for his time on the field, he and the Chiefs will face off against their AFC West foes, the Las Vegas Raiders (2-4) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
