The Baltimore Ravens are officially back in business with their dominant 28-6 win over the Miami Dolphins on "Thursday Night Football."
With a spectacular performance from their franchise quarterback, Lamar Jackson, who has carved up the Dolphins in his career, and their defense getting back into form, the Ravens have suddenly turned their season around.
Starting the season 1-5 for the first time since 2015, the Ravens' hopes to make the playoffs this season appeared to be shattered out of the gate, and things got worse when Jackson went down with a hamstring injury. Thankfully, in football, one game can change everything, and that's what the Ravens' win over the Dolphins did, moving them into a tie with the Cincinnati Bengals (3-5) for second in the division.
The Ravens, with Jackson’s return, are now back to being competitive. Jackson is the only player to have six games of four or more touchdown passes since the start of last season. No other quarterback has more than four, and this was Jackson’s second four-touchdown game of the season; the other came against the Cleveland Browns in a 41-17 win on Sept. 14.

Jackson has also thrown for more than 200 yards in every game but one, which was against the Kansas City Chiefs (147 yards), the game in which he was injured. Showing he didn’t miss a beat, Jackson said that he felt “comfortable” in his first game back while complimenting how well the Ravens did in all phases of the game.
"I just felt a little comfortable and our guys were ready to score," Jackson said, per Grant Gordon of NFL.com. "Shoutout to the offensive line. They did great. All phases, all skill positions, and our running backs, those guys were just locked in and wanted to put points on the board because we only scored twice in the first half.”
Despite kicking off the second half of the season with an exclamation point, it is still put-up-or-shut-up time for the Ravens, with Jackson stating it’s “do or die” moving forward.
"Yeah, I mean it's do or die," Jackson said. "Win or go home. Usually we start off winning games, and we never be behind, but right now we're behind and we all got to step it up."
The Ravens still have two games to play against both their divisional opponents, the Bengals (Thanksgiving and Dec. 14), and the Pittsburgh Steelers (Dec. 7 and Jan. 4), which could help them jump them in the division, and potentially the conference, if they win. With the defense getting healthier and flipping the script, possibly adding another player or two ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline could help the Ravens become the fifth team since the merger in 1970 to make the postseason after starting 1-5.
