Ravens' John Harbaugh on Bengals loss: 'We played our worst game of the season, worst game in a long time'

Sunday's much-anticipated matchup between the then-5-1 Baltimore Ravens and 4-2 Cincinnati Bengals turned into a laugher, as Cincinnati rode into Baltimore and crushed the Ravens 41-17 to climb atop the AFC North division standings ahead of Halloween.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and company will have plenty of time to think about all that went wrong, as Baltimore is on the bye ahead of the Nov. 7 showdown with the Minnesota Vikings. Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Harbaugh addressed the loss while speaking with media members on Monday.

"We played our worst game of the season, worst game in a long time," Harbaugh explained. "Bengals played very well, they were very prepared and played a great game. It’s week to week. A week ago, we’re being crowned the best ever and we’re sitting there saying 'Whoa, whoa, it’s one week.' Now you wanna say 'What’s wrong with the run game, what’s wrong with the pass game, you guys are terrible.' We’re like 'Whoa, whoa, it’s one week.' It’s the same message from us."

Baltimore's dominant 34-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers back on Oct. 17 certainly lost some of its luster on Sunday afternoon, and one can't help but wonder if Harbaugh would prefer getting back to work preparing for another contest instead of entering an off week after such a disappointing performance.
