Ravens' John Harbaugh on Lamar Jackson: He knows 'he's gonna get paid'

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said roughly one month after the club exercised the fifth-year option attached to his contract that he "would love to be here forever" but added at that time he was "not really worried" about putting pen to paper on an extension this spring or summer.

Jackson and head coach John Harbaugh continued to say the right things about the future of the one-time regular-season Most Valuable Player on Wednesday.

"Look what he's done. He's gonna get paid. He knows that," Harbaugh said of Jackson, per Jelani Scott of the NFL's website. "The question becomes, 'What's he gonna do?' 'What's his legacy gonna be as a quarterback?' That's what he focuses on. That's what's so great about him. The other thing is a done deal."

Jackson, meanwhile, commented that he is "not really focused" on his contract. "I'm focused on getting me a Super Bowl, focused on getting better, focused on working with my teammates right now," he said. "Whatever was put out there, that's what it is, you know? Like I said before, I'm focused on winning right now, trying to bring me a Super Bowl here."

Jackson wasn't the only AFC North quarterback who fielded such questions Wednesday, as Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns told reporters he was "just worried about winning" and that his contract situation will ultimately "handle itself."

Both might already be signed to massive extensions by the time they meet on a football field again this fall.
