Ravens QB Lamar Jackson misses practice

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh initially didn't seem too annoyed about the needless flip executed by star quarterback Lamar Jackson in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's highlight-reel win over the Kansas City Chiefs:

Harbaugh may soon change his mind.

Per John Breech of CBS Sports and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Jackson missed practice on Thursday ahead of this Sunday's matchup at the Detroit Lions, and it was officially listed as an illness that kept the signal-caller out, though his "sore" hip may have played a role.

Jackson wasn't mentioned on Wednesday's official injury report, but he admitted his aerial maneuver left him with a sensitive hip.

"I'm kind of sore," the 2019 NFL Most Valuable Player said at that time. "I didn't want to tell coach because coach would probably [have] said something to me about flipping next time. I don't know; I'd probably do it again though."

2020 undrafted rookie and unproven commodity Tyler Huntley is next up on the depth chart, but there's currently no indication Jackson will be a spectator in Detroit even if he's not 100% by the final Sunday of September.

Whatever the case, don't be surprised if Harbaugh attempts to keep Jackson grounded, whenever possible, following this week's events.
