Ravens QB Lamar Jackson practices following non-COVID-19 illness

The Baltimore Ravens' top offensive superstar is on track to take the field at the Detroit Lions Sunday afternoon despite a couple of scares. 

Jackson missed practice on Thursday with an illness not related to COVID-19 later said to be a stomach bug, and ESPN's Jamison Hensley noted the 2019 NFL Most Valuable Player returned to practice Friday. 

Jackson raised eyebrows earlier in the week when he admitted his hip was "kind of sore" following his acrobatic flip in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's win over the Kansas City Chiefs, but there's currently no indication that issue will bother him in Detroit.

Additionally, Hensley reports Baltimore reserve outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson tested positive for COVID-19. 

Ahead of the regular season, Jackson refused to say if he has or hasn't been vaccinated against the coronavirus even though he's tested positive twice in less than a full year. If Jackson isn't vaccinated and is ultimately deemed a high-risk close contact of Ferguson, the quarterback would have to isolate away from team activities for a minimum of five days per league rules and, thus, wouldn't be available to play this weekend. 

"We haven't put anybody on any COVID list at this point," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Friday. "I'm not allowed to comment on it past that." 

Jackson is cleared to play against the Lions as of Friday afternoon.
