If one NFL franchise could sum up the acceptance of failure, it would be the Detroit Lions.
They are the only NFC team to have never seen the Super Bowl and are one of four NFL teams that never went.
However, the team has a quarterback that’s seen the Super Bowl, and not just on TV.
But some NFL fans don’t believe Jared Goff is the right quarterback for Detroit.
With former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams, the team’s fans are split on Goff.
Should the Lions fanbase just suffer through another year with Goff, or should they demand their team’s owner to make a switch?
When you examine some of the most consistent Super Bowl teams, you’ll find an elite quarterback on the roster.
The New England Patriots won six Super Bowls with Tom Brady.
Peyton Manning took the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts to two Super Bowls each.
Russell Wilson also has two Super Bowl appearances and one ring with Seattle.
However, Detroit’s head coach, Dan Campbell, doesn’t feel like the team needs an elite QB for sustained success.
Do you agree with Dan Campbell that you don't need an elite quarterback for sustained success? #OnePride

When you examine the winners of past Super Bowls, you find elite quarterbacks.
The teams who repeatedly make it to the pinnacle of the NFL all had elite quarterbacks.
It’s why teams will sell the farm for an elite QB, because they know that’s one key to winning a Super Bowl.
However, no one in the Lions leadership cares about this.
It’s why they sent Stafford to Los Angeles.
Mismanagement by members of the Ford family has led Lions fans to be the laughingstock of the NFL.
They embarrass their fanbase so much that they resort to wearing paper bags over their faces.

So while fans could demand for a better quarterback, it’s doubtful they would get their wish.
When Barry Sanders needed a quarterback, he got Scott Mitchell and Rodney Peete.
When Stafford needed a running back, they got Adrian Peterson well out of his prime.
However, they used the 2022 NFL Draft to get Goff a receiver in the first round.
But that draft pick is injured and could miss most of the 2022 NFL season.
Having the right tools for the job separates the elite teams from average teams.
It’s no different for Goff, who spent 2021 without an elite group of receivers.
However, this season will give him more weapons.
But at least one weapon won’t be around until late in the 2022 NFL season.
Those weapons are DJ Chark and Jameson Williams.
Chark comes to the team from free agency, while Williams was the team’s first-round draft pick.
While Williams is injured, Chark is ready to go on day one for the Lions.
If he and Goff can work some magic, it might give fans some second thoughts on their quarterback situation in Detroit.
