The Chiefs and Eagles have both scored 546 points heading into Super Bowl LVII

The best teams in the NFL don't always make the Super Bowl. Luck is normally involved and there's a big part of it that comes to overall health as well. With that said, there's no doubt the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are the best of the best heading into Super Bowl LVII.

The Eagles finished the regular season at 14-3 and secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC, as well as a first-round bye. The Chiefs finished the regular season 14-3 and secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC, as well as a first-round bye.

Not only are these two teams great, but they're about as equal as you'll see on paper. They're so equal, in fact, that including the playoffs, they're heading into the Super Bowl with the same records (16-3) as well as the same amount of points scored (456).

When you break down the numbers a bit more you'll start to see some variance, but that's to be expected in any matchup. The Chiefs led the NFL by scoring 29.2 points per game in the regular season but the Eagles were the top offensive team in the playoffs, scoring 34.5 points per game over two games. (Kansas City has averaged 25 points per game in the playoffs).

The Eagles had the eighth-best regular-season defense in the NFL, giving up just 20.2 points per game, and they've given up only seven points per game in the playoffs. The Chiefs gave up 21.7 points per game in the regular season and they've given up 20 points per game in the playoffs.

Even though there is a bit of variance between these two squads, without a doubt, this will be one of the more evenly-matched Super Bowls in recent memory.
