The month of December is upon us and for the Packers, the playoff push begins.

After 3 months the Packers sit in a great spot at 8-3-1 and are in prime position to start competing for the Playoffs.

Looking at the Packers remaining schedule, they have a couple of tough division games that could decide the NFC North.

They’ve already swept the Detroit Lions and have a win over the Vikings.

But they still have 2 games left against the Chicago Bears who lead the division at 9-3.

They also face two tough non-divisional foes with a road trip to Denver and a home game against the Ravens.

For the Packers, all scenarios are on the table.

That includes first round byes and home playoffs games, something the Packers haven’t had the luxury of since the 2021 season.

The road to the playoff, though will be tough.

Here’s a look at the Packers upcoming schedule.

Week 14 and 16: Chicago Bears

The first step and easiest way to making the playoffs is winning your division.

For the Packers, that means winning division games.

The Packers are 3-0 in the NFC North.

But they haven’t faced the current leaders in the NFC North the Chicago Bears.

But they will get a chance in week 14 as the playoff push begins.

Furthermore, the last time these two teams faced off, the Packers lost.

The Packers will look to avenge that loss and get in the lead in the NFC North in week 14 in their own home.

A win for the Packers means they will take the lead in the NFC North.

But this won’t be the last time, the Packers see the Bear this season.

They’ll see them two weeks after in Chicago, and that game may decide who wins the NFC North.

If the Packers want any shot at a home playoff game and a division championship, they must at least defeat the Bears once, either in week 14 or 16.

Week 15: Denver Broncos

The Packers head out to Denver in week 15 in a match up of two of the best teams teams in their conference.

The Broncos will have a lot to play for in week 15, as they are in contention for the top seed in the AFC.

Led by Bo Nix, the Denver offense has been proficient this season.

Add their running game and their offensive is one of the best in the leauge.

Meanwhile, the Denver defense has been proficient as well.

It will be a big test for the Packers as historically, they’ve always struggled in Denver.

If the Packers want to keep pace in the NFC and in their division, they must win this game.

This game, if anything for the Packers is a statement game to show the league, they are a team not to be messed with.

Week 17: Baltimore Ravens

In week 17, the Packers will host the struggling Ravens.

At 6-6 , the Ravens haven’t really been the same team we’ve seen the past couple of years.

Even though they are struggling, they still have a chance at wining their division.

Currently they are in first place in the AFC North but a loss for them would possibly diminish any chance at a Division championship.

In their playoff push, they are battling the Steelers, who currently are also 6-6.

If anything, this is not a game the Packers want to take lightly.

They still have Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and they still will pound the ball.

The Packers run defense will have to stop those two if they have any chance of winning.

This will probably be a typical cold weather game between two teams that love running the football.

Furthermore, it will be a playoff atmosphere, as it should be, between these two teams.

Week 18: Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings will perhaps look to play the role of spoiler in their week 18 matchup against the Packers.

Currently, the Vikings sit at 3-9 and have little or no shot at the playoffs.

The Packers though could be playing for the division title if things go Chicago’s way.

The Packers defeated the Vikings pretty easily in week 12 23-6, but the Packers have always struggled on the road against the Vikings.

If the Packers want to get some momentum going into the playoffs, this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.

Very easily, though the Packers could have the division wrapped up and have nothing to play for in week 18.

They could be playing for home field advantage but, if they do not have anything to play for it could be a game where they rest their starters.

Conclusion

The month of December for the Packers is very important to their playoff push.

The battle for the division, home field advantage and playoff positioning is all on the table for the Packers.

Last year the Packers backed their way into the playoffs, creating a bad ending for them.

This year, it seems like the Packers have learned for that and look to go into the playoffs with momentum.

For some team the playoff push starts earlier than others, but for the Packers it starts right now.
