The Texans Remain Linked To A Star College QB
Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

After trading away star quarterback Deshaun Watson in the offseason, the Houston Texans are looking for their next franchise star at the position.

With the way that they have played in 2022, the Texans will likely find themselves with the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Enter Bryce Young.

The Texans need a serious jolt on offense, and Young is looking to be the perfect solution for them.

Through 11 games, the Texans sit at 1-9-1 and have only scored 15.8 points per game.

This is the second-worst mark in the NFL, second only to the Denver Broncos, who are averaging 14.3 points per game.

For comparison, Young’s college team, the University of Alabama, is averaging 41.4 points per game.

Yes, this is at a collegiate level, but it demonstrates the type of offensive firepower that Young could bring to the Texans.

Who Is Bryce Young?

Young was the recipient of the 2021 Heisman Trophy and is a front-runner to bring the award home for his merits in the 2022 season as well.

If Young were to be awarded the Heisman Trophy, he would join Archie Griffin as the second player to win the award more than once.

Thus far in the 2022 collegiate campaign, Young has thrown for 3,007 yards, 27 touchdowns, completed passes at a 64.1% rate, and only thrown five interceptions.

It’s looking like his game will translate well to the NFL.

It is up to the Texans to decide if he will be a good fit with the organization, and become their quarterback of the future.
