It might feel like the dog days of the offseason, but Pittsburgh Steelers football will be back before you know it.
While many questions still remain about the 2025 version of the team, we will soon know when Pittsburgh takes on all 17 of their opponents.
But before the official release, let’s make some predictions…
There probably should have been a disclaimer at the top of this article, so here you go: everything in this article is predicted with the assumption that Aaron Rodgers is on the Steelers in 2025.
So what better way to kick off the season that having him return to the Big Apple against the New York Jets. The NFL knows how to keep up with rivalries and storylines as well as Hollywood. We already know the Steelers will play the Jets in New York given their 2025 opponents list.
Starting off Week 1 with a bang as Rodgers aims to get revenge on the team that said thanks, but no thanks, seems like a good place to start.
The Steelers are going to Ireland for the first time in decades, and this time the game will actually count, unlike their exhibition in the 90s.
What we don’t know for sure, is who the Steelers will play, and during what week of the season. I’m going to shoot my shot here and say a Week 5 contest against the Minnesota Vikings.
This game would also be intriguing because of the ties and early offseason rumors that were floated between Rodgers and Minnesota. We know that Rodgers is never short on motivation and to face another team that passed on him, but overseas would make the game even more enticing.
The Steelers have a home game against the Green Bay Packers set for 2025. Even if Aaron Rodgers wasn’t on the team, two playoff teams from 2024 and iconic brands would be worth a Sunday night fixture.
Add in that Rodgers would be taking on the team that drafted him and one he hoisted a Lombardi with, and this has game of the year potential written all over it.
