Tom Brady denies rumors he wanted to play for any team other than the Buccaneers

For a guy who went on a preseason hiatus and hadn't spoken to the media in close to a month, Tom Brady was sure in the news a lot in the month of August.

Prior to speculation he had cosmetic surgery during his 11-day absence, the three-time MVP was in the headlines for reportedly wanting to play for teams other than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he made his exit from the New England Patriots. But after being linked to the Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers while on his break from the Bucs, Brady finally addressed the rumors he wanted to play anywhere other than Florida -- and, not surprisingly, denied them.

"I read all these stories about all these different places I was supposed to go or could have gone, and I'm like, 'I only was going to go to one place, which was here,'" Brady said Saturday after his team lost 27-10 to the Indianapolis Colts. "I think this whole organization knows that and all the conversations we've had over a period of time, I chose the right place for me."

It shouldn't come as a shock that "TB12" is claiming he never wanted to play anywhere else -- he did win a Super Bowl in his first season in Tampa Bay, after all. Still, the Dolphins' tampering fiasco and Dana White's claims he was brokering a deal to make Brady a Raider appear to have a firm hold on everyone's attention.

Even if Brady's comments over the weekend squash the rumors for good, the press isn't going to stop targeting him any time soon. As one of the most polarizing characters in major sports, chatter about the starting quarterback will be at an all-time high this season since he retired and then unretired just a little over a month later -- and those plastic surgery rumors surely aren't helping.
