Tom Brady is bound to have a key role in whatever the Raiders plan to do regarding their head coach job

The Las Vegas Raiders will need to make a decision very soon, and I think we all know what decision I'm referring to.

Pretty soon, in a few days, a thing that used to be called "Black Monday" will be approaching. It used to be the day that all of the head coaches who were getting fired that season got fired. It's the Monday after the last game of the season.

And, the Raiders could very well be at the center of attention on that day. Antonio Pierce, the current Raiders head coach, became the interim head coach after Josh McDaniels was fired on Halloween, and then became the actual head coach this offseason when Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby demanded that Pierce be the head coach.

Now, he has the same record, 9-16, as McDaniels did when he was fired. Of course, Pierce is on a two-game win streak with wins over the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New Orleans Saints, and he could beat the Los Angeles Chargers this week.

The Raiders could move on, we really don't know what will happen. But, it's safe to say that the Raiders will likely look to new minority owner Tom Brady on the decision. Recently, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Peter Schrager discussed how Brady will have a role in that decision, whatever the decision may be.

Here is the full dialogue between the two of them about the situation, with the conversation about the Raiders starting at the 2:35 mark.

Yes, it's clear that the Raiders should be interested in Mark Vrabel as their head coach if they move on from Pierce. But, the impact that Tom Brady has could greatly impact the decision on whether they make Vrabel the head coach or not. The two of them are very close from their days as teammates for the New England Patriots.

The Raiders need to get this decision right, badly. They cannot continue to keep switching head coaches, and not have any continuity every other year. If they move on from Pierce, their next head coach needs to be the head coach for a while.

And, no one knows good coaching better than Tom Brady, who had some pretty great ones with the Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
