Tom Brady to again host in-person workouts for Buccaneers

Last week, members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers declared they are among NFL players not participating in voluntary in-person workouts due to continued concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic:

That won't be stopping seven-time champion quarterback Tom Brady from leading informal workouts away from the Buccaneers' facilities.

"We’ll just take it and see how we go and see how things play out over the course of the offseason," Brady said of future workouts while at Bruce Arians’ Family Foundation gala, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. "A lot of things come up and change over the course of the offseason, and we’ve got a lot of hard-working guys, so guys will be anxious to get together and get to work.

"As soon as I’m ready to throw, that will be really important for me. That’s always a big part of my preparation — actually doing what my job is."

Brady also said he's recovering well from offseason knee surgery. It's believed he'll be ready for workouts at some point in June.

The future Hall of Famer generated headlines and criticism last May when he and teammates ignored NFL Players Association health and safety recommendations and completed in-person workouts at a local high school.
