Trent Brown responds to ex-girlfriend's domestic violence allegations
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Trent Brown released a statement on Twitter in response to a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend.

Brown’s ex-girlfriend Diorra Marzette-Sanders, who is also the mother of his son, filed a lawsuit against Brown in a California civil court on Monday. The suit alleges that Brown committed domestic violence against her multiple times in 2018 and violated an agreement that he would support the girlfriend and child even without being married.

Brown, who signed a four-year, $66 million deal with the Oakland Raiders in March, released the following statement.

Brown did not participate in the team’s practice on Wednesday due to a calf injury.

“We’re aware of it and we’re looking into it. I’m not going to say anything else other than, we’re aware of it,” Raiders coach Jon Gruden said in a statement.

Marzette-Sanders said Brown slapped, punched and choked her numerous times, beginning in 2018. She said she has been “bruised, bloodied and battered” by Brown and that he threatened to shoot her when she said she would leave with their son.
