Twitter reacts to Odell Beckham Jr. sobbing in towel on sideline
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was consoled on the sideline by punter Brad Wing after becoming visibly upset against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

We’re not too sure what transpired with New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, but something definitely set him off. In the third quarter of said game, OBJ was seen crying on the sideline — only to be consoled by punter Brad Wing.

This leads us to the whole, “there’s no crying in football” thing. Jokes will be made. They will be made on Twitter. And said jokes will be glorious. Here are a few of the best.

Why not a Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore joke? We’re all up for that, right?

At the very least, Beckham Jr. did respond by putting up two big catches on the following drive. We now know he’s not a ghost.

But he very well could have a post-football career on Broadway.

Heck, Anthony Anderson might want a stunt double.

Of course, there were Brokeback Mountain references to be had, too.

Who says the scenes are not similar?

Needless to say, there were a lot of references to drama involved here. One surrounding none other than LeBron James himself.

Though, the best reaction has to be from a man named John Knox, who redefines what it means to overreact.

Dude must be really fun at boat parties, am I right?

In all seriousness, it looked like OBJ had previously attempted to get the Giants’ team together for somewhat of a pep talk on the sideline before breaking down.

It’s all about passion for this guy. Well, passion and drama.
