Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks was ejected Monday night for an unnecessary roughness penalty against Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
Kendricks, 29, made helmet-to-helmet contact with Fields, who was sliding down after rushing for a first down. Multiple flags were thrown, and Kendricks was disqualified from the rest of the game after a discussion between officials.

The penalty was just the second unnecessary roughness call on Kendricks in his seven-year career, according to the ESPN broadcast.
Kendricks was a First-Team All-Pro in 2019 and has been putting together a career year in 2021. His five sacks for the season are a career-best and he also has two interceptions and one fumble recovery.
The penalty on Kendricks set up the Bears with a first-and-goal on the seven-yard line, but a negative rushing play followed by three straight incomplete passes gave the ball back to the Vikings.
