What Are the Bears' Playoff Chances After Beating Eagles?

The Chicago Bears have not made the NFL playoffs since the 2020 season, when they made it to the Wild Card round and lost to the New Orleans Saints. The Windy City franchise has not won a playoff game in 15 years either, having last beaten the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round in the 2010 season.

This 2025, however, the Bears' long wait for a playoff berth and win could end.

Chicago improved to 9-3 on the season with a win against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, in their post-Thanksgiving showdown on Friday.

Caleb Williams threw for 154 yards and one touchdown on 17-of-36 pass completion. Running backs Kyle Monangai and D'Andre Swift added one rushing score each, as the Bears secured a 24-15 victory.

It's Chicago's fifth straight win, which has allowed the team to move up to second in the NFC standings, with Philadelphia dropping to No. 3. The Bears are now only behind the 9-2 Los Angeles Rams in the conference.

What Are the Bears Playoff Chances?

Before the game against the Eagles, the Bears had a 59% chance to make the playoffs, per NFL.com. A loss would have decreased their chances to 53%, but fortunately, they got the win and a massive boost in their playoff odds.

Now, Chicago has a 79% chance to make the playoffs.

The Bears remain atop the NFC North, and they have a good chance of competing for the top seed in the conference.

Williams and company play the Green Bay Packers twice, the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions in their final five games. While it won't be easy to win out in their remaining games, the team under first-year head coach Ben Johnson is certainly brimming with optimism right now.
