Where The Miami Dolphins Stand Before Tomorrow Night

Talk about a statement win to prove that you are still here, although the thing we have to ask ourselves about the 2025 Miami Dolphins is whether they are one and six, or two and six, something they can claw out of?

Well, that is something they should be asking themselves as to who they truly want to be, either contenders or who they are now, which are pretenders. I do have some opinions, two in fact, instead of the usual three, unless I come up with a third. So let us take a Deep End Dive into where the Miami Dolphins stand in the AFC standings as of before tomorrow night’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

How We Got Here

The Dolphins first of all put themselves in this two and six position after blowing games that they should have won against Carolina, then De’Von Achane stepped out of bounds, costing them a win against the Patriots, Tua throws the pick against the Bills, Jaelan Phillips misses a sack on Justin Herbert, and lastly their win against the Atlanta Falcons.

My point is, if they did not have self-inflicted wounds and poor play like they did at the start of the season, they would easily be at the level of the Colts or Patriots right now. Imagine the Dolphins played like they played against the Falcons the whole season, they probably would have six wins right now.

Then there is tomorrow night against the Baltimore Ravens, a team I considered elite at the start of the season that has had a slow start, similar to the Dolphins, even with Lamar Jackson as their quarterback. I consider tomorrow night’s game a must for Miami’s playoff chances. If they want to control their destiny, then prove it to me. So that is a recap of how we got to where we are currently. Now, we will discuss where the Dolphins stand in the standings.

Standings Update

The Miami Dolphins, currently eight weeks into the 2025 season, are fourteenth in the AFC standings as the season hits the halfway point after Thursday night’s game. They sit four games behind the AFC East division lead with still plenty of time left in the season, though I am not saying that the Dolphins will magically win their first division title since 2008. If they wanted to do that, they would have to win out, which is unrealistic.

A lot would have to go their way to not only turn their season around but also for them to make the playoffs to some degree. Do I think they could do it? I would have to wait and see how they fare against other teams to truly get a grasp of where they are and who they want to be as a team moving forward. On that note, that has been the standings update, short and sweet, since there was not a ton to discuss. Now, onto the preview for tomorrow night’s game, which is my third take.

Dolphins Ravens Preview

The Miami Dolphins head into tomorrow night’s game on Thursday Night Football under the lights of Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, with a lot of pressure to perform against the Baltimore Ravens.

Lamar Jackson from what I saw is playing tomorrow night and just as a refresher to the last time that the Miami Dolphins played the Ravens at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday Night Football I might add was in November of 2021 where the Dolphins held the Ravens to just ten points and to just ninety four rushing yards for the game which seems like a lot but you have to remember that the Ravens in 2021 had one of if not the best rushing offense in the National Football League.

They had a game plan for Lamar that night, and I think Anthony Weaver will do the same for tomorrow night. Both teams are very similar; we will just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow night.

Summary

So this sums up where the Dolphins stand heading into tomorrow night in three ways. First off is how we got here in the first place, to two wins on the year, that is, and why the Dolphins lost the games they lost. Second, there was the standings update and where the Dolphins stand in the 2025 season as of now.

Lastly, the preview for tomorrow night’s game with the Baltimore Ravens features a throwback to the last time these two played at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday Night Football. Eight games down, still nine more to determine the fate of the 2025 Miami Dolphins. Will it result in playoffs or not? Only time will tell.
