Who could be the Indianapolis Colts Tight End two? Mo Allie-Cox is the Indianapolis Colts tight end number one. The rest of the tight ends on the roster could fight for the number two spot when training camp starts. Kylen Granson, Jelani Woods, and Andrew Ogletree are competing for this position.

Tight End Number Two: Kylen Granson, Mr. YAC

Kylen Granson was drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was drafted with the hope of finding a yard after catch tight end. The Colts ideal role for him is someone who makes plays and stretches out opposing defenses. Tight ends in the NFL usually take longer to develop than other positions. Granson saw the field last season and had meaningful snaps. With good competition at training camp there is a chance for Granson to make great strides and secure the number two spot on the depth chart.

Tight End Number Two: Jelani Woods, The Do-It-All Giant

Jelani Woods from the University of Virginia is a proto type do it all type of tight end. Woods was drafted in 2022 with the 73rd overall pick. The Colts are infatuated with their third round selection. Woods is large, just like the rest of our receivers. He stands at an intimidating 6’7″, while weighing 259 pounds, according to NFL.com. NFL.com also lists his prospect grad at a 6.18 with the comment of “Good Backup With The Potential To Develop Into Starter”. The Colts seem to agree and could possibly give him the number two tight end position.

Tight End Number Two: Andrew Ogletree Do-It-All Again

Andrew Ogletree has a similar story to Woods. Another big-bodied athletic tight end measuring 6’5″ and 260 pounds. The Colts made a trade to select him, showing their interest in him.  In the fall of 2021 he started nine of 10 games for Youngstown State. He caught 28 passes for 282 yards that season. Ogletree can compete for the number two spot just like the other two players.

All of these young players will be competing for the tight end number two spot during the upcoming Colts training camp. All Colts fans will be eagerly awaiting the results from this battle.
