26 NHL players test positive for COVID-19
The NHL is doing fairly well at preventing its players from being diagnosed with the coronavirus, and they proved it Monday by releasing the latest test results.
15 of the 250 players who reported to training facilities for Phase 2 of the NHL's return-to-play plan have tested positive for the coronavirus, the league announced on social media.
11 additional players who didn't report for voluntary workouts have tested positive since the opening of Phase 2 on June 8.
Phase 3 of the NHL's plan, which includes training camps, is expected to begin on July 10.
The league has yet to make a decision on which two cities will host the 24 teams returning to action, but it appears that Las Vegas, Edmonton, and Toronto are among the frontrunners.
