Another overtime winner?  Yes, please.

Thanks to a snazzy wrist shot from Alexander Radulov, the Stars took a 2-1 series lead against the team from Sin City on Thursday night.

Radulov scored from the right face off circle off a pass from Joe Pavelski just 31 seconds into the overtime period.  It would be his seventh goal of the playoffs and his third game-winner.

Other Stars goal scorers include Jamie Benn and Jamie Oleksiak.  Big Rig opened the scoring for the Stars in the second period on an unusual breakaway opportunity.  He dangled forehand, backhand to beat Lehner for the first time in 171 minutes.  It would be the only scoring in the second period.

The third period would be a different story.  It didn’t take long before the Stars found themselves on the penalty kill.  Shea Theodore broke the Dallas lead just 3:49 into the period.

Not too long after, Jamie Benn sent home a wrist shot to regain the lead and the back and forth continued.  Benn’s goal came off a pass from Tyler Seguin and the top line would make themselves known in game three after being held scoreless through the first two contests.

Next up, Vegas’ Alex Tuch scored on a controversial goal that Rick Bowness ended up challenging for goal interference.  Unfortunately, the goal was upheld and the Stars would find themselves on an immediate penalty kill after giving up the tying goal.

The rest of regulation saw plenty of chances including one in the final seconds from Dallas’ top line.

In the overtime, Alexander Radulov clipped the post and in on a laser wrist shot that beat Lehner with ease, giving the Stars a crucial win.  Teams that win Game 3 after a series is tied 1-1 are 359-154 (70.0 percent) winning a best-of-7 NHL playoff series, including 9-1 in the first two rounds.

Game 4 is in Edmonton, the hub city for the conference finals and Stanley Cup Final, on Saturday at 7pm Central Time.  The Stars will look to take a 3-1 lead for the second time in two playoff series, increasing their odds for their first Stanley Cup appearance in two decades.

The best team in the playoffs are ones that have a cohesive locker room, a strong defensive presence and goal scoring when it is called upon.  It appears the Dallas Stars have just that.
