Andrew Copp leads Rangers to 4-1 win over Hurricanes in Game 4, tying series 2-2

The New York Rangers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

This is the Rangers' second victory in a row in the series, which is now tied 2-2.

Center Andrew Copp's three-point night helped lead the way for the Rangers. Copp had a goal and two assists.

Rangers' goaltender Igor Shesterkin made 30 saves off 31 shots.

New York jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period. Frank Vatrano opened the scoring at 13:31 with a power play goal, followed by an Adam Fox tally at 15:42.

A goal from Mika Zibanejad late in the second period made it 3-0, helping the Rangers take command of the game.

At 6:33 into the third, Teuvo Teravainen gave the Hurricanes some life with their first goal. However, Copp would score at 11:10 to put the game out of reach.

Carolina jumped ahead in the series 2-0, outscoring the Rangers 4-1. While Carolina kept New York's offense at bay in Games 1 and 2, the Rangers returned the favor in the last two games. After Game 4's four-goal effort, the Rangers outscored the Hurricanes 7-1 after the series shifted to Madison Square Garden.

The series now returns to Carolina for Game 5 on Thursday at 7 p.m.
