Scouting the Opponent, Storylines & Miscellaneous Musings

This season felt like it went so fast–and yet–53 losses and counting–it feels like a season that certainly has been ready to be over for some time–especially for fans who watched every single game.

The Blackhawks fought through the majority of games but that were some “eggs” as Luke Richardson would call them. But what else was there to expect? The roster was to ice a team but not win too often to get out of prime lottery chance. Mission accomplished. The Hawks will have the second best odds and another real shot at getting Macklin Celebrini, which would likely break the internet with the rage rolling in from every corner of North America outside of Chicago.

But the Blackhawks have a rising young core, starting with Connor Bedard and wrapping up with Frank Nazar showing that he’s likely on the final roster once the season starts in just two eye opening games at the NHL level.

So tonight’s game is to see if Bedard can tie Darryl Sutter for sixth all time in Blackhawks rookie points. Can Nazar net another goal? Will Lukas Reichel end the season on a high note? What about Alex Vlasic and Kevin Korchinski and what they could possibly show in the final game?

There’s plenty to watch for as the season closes out in the latest hours of the night.
