The veteran netminder remains in concussion protocol and will not travel with the Blackhawks on their upcoming two-game road trip.

The Chicago Blackhawks provided an update on goaltender Alex Stalock's status ahead of the team's two-game road trip that begins on Thursday in Philadelphia. Stalock, who was placed in concussion protocol on Tuesday, will not travel with the team.

Stalock previously missed a 20-game stretch this season after suffering a concussion on Nov. 1. He returned to action on Dec. 19 and appeared in six games before taking a hit during practice Monday that landed him back in the protocol.

Chicago Blackhawks Goalie Situation

Petr Mrazek will likely become the Blackhawks' primary option in net until Alex Stalock returns from concussion protocol. Jaxson Stauber, who was recalled from the Rockford IceHogs on Tuesday, figures to serve as his backup.

Arvid Soderblom, who has appeared in 15 NHL games this season, is currently on IR for the Rockford IceHogs after suffering a groin injury at the end of December. His original recovery timeline was estimated at 2-3 weeks. Depending on the length of Stalock's absence, Soderblom could potentially return to the NHL club once he is healthy enough to play.

The Chicago Blackhawks begin their brief road trip Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers. Puck drop from Wells Fargo Center is at 6 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
