Remember the time that Chicago Blackhawks legend Chris Chelios left a game to drink with Michael Jordan?

Yes, you read that right. The Michael Jordan. It happened and it’s a spectacular story via Spittin Chiclets:

For fans of a certain age, it’s hardly a shock. Jordan and Chelios would have run into each other quite often as the Bulls and Blackhawks were both sharing the Stadium and eventually United Center all season long and into the playoffs. Both teams played for a title in 1992–the Bulls knocking off the Blazers but the Blackhawks falling to the Penguins.

So suffice it to say, that Scotty Bowman sending the grizzled veteran and trade acquisition to go drink with the greatest basketball player of all time instead of taking the ice? Hilarious. Especially since the crowd was still in the game during a season where the Blackhawks would miss the playoffs and the Red Wings were two-time defending champs.

Alls well that ends well, I suppose. Chelios may have been booed then but he’ll be cheered loudly when that #7 goes to the rafters–against Detroit of course.

Blackhawks Drop Teaser Video Before Training Camp

The Chicago Blackhawks dropped a video at Fifth-Third Arena and a little bit of fun for the fans as it zips through and snaps images of a few players:

So aside from the multiple fly-bys of Connor Bedard, how about the look at Kevin Korchinski sporting that #55 and a quick turn to face the camera. Could that be a clue that he is absolutely penciled in for the lineup? Lukas Reichel, who will also be centering lines this season in Chicago, makes a cameo.

It’s a neat little video worth the time to watch as it goes through Fifth-Third before training camp officially begins.
