Roos began the season in Chicago but has spent most of his time in Rockford.

The Chicago Blackhawks are adding reinforcement to their blue line. The team recalled defenseman Filip Roos from the Rockford IceHogs on Thursday.

Roos began the season with the Blackhawks and has appeared in 15 games at the NHL level this season. In those contests, he recorded three points (one goal, two assists) and averaged 16:19 of ice time.

The 24-year-old has spent the bulk of his season with the Rockford IceHogs. He has nine points (three goals, six assists) in 28 AHL games.

Filip Roos joins the Blackhawks in the aftermath of an injury to Andreas Englund, who came to Chicago in the Jack Johnson trade. Englund appeared in five games with his new team before suffering a pulled hamstring on Monday. Head coach Luke Richardson expects Englund to miss 1-2 weeks.
