Bruins forward David Pastrnak announces heartbreaking death of newborn son

Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak announced heartbreaking news early Monday morning, revealing that his newborn son, Viggo Rohl Pastrnak, died last week.

His son was born June 17 and died six days later, on June 23. Pastrnak finished his announcement by requesting privacy during such an unimaginable time.

Pastrnak and his girlfriend, Rebecca Rohlsson, had announced in January that they were expecting a baby boy.

Pastrnak just completed his seventh NHL season. He appeared in 48 games last season, tallying 20 goals and 28 assists. He also led the Bruins with 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 11 playoff games.
