In advance of a hectic three games in four night road trip, the Calgary Flames have made a pair of roster moves. They’ve recalled forward Walker Duehr from the American Hockey League’s Calgary Wranglers. To make room on the active roster, they’ve placed Michael Stone on the injury reserve list, retroactive to Feb. 19.

Stone is eligible to be activated after he’s been on the IR for seven days, so as early as Feb. 26. In effect, he’ll miss the entire road trip, but can be back right afterwards. He’s reportedly dealing with a lower body injury.

The 25-year-old Duehr returns to the Flames after spending three weeks on the active roster a little while back. He has two goals in eight NHL games this season, and 26 points in 41 AHL games with the Wranglers. He’s shown to be an effective energy player at the NHL so far in a few short call-ups. He’s waiver exempt this season, so he can come and go from the AHL freely.

The recall gives the Flames 23 players on their active roster: two goaltenders, seven defencemen and 14 forwards.
