Brock Boeser scored his second goal of the game at 1:34 of overtime as the Vancouver Canucks came back from a two-goal deficit in the third period to defeat the visiting Boston Bruins in a Saturday night matchup of the NHL's top two teams.

Boeser winning goal came as he tipped in J.T. Miller's shot from above the left circle while stationed just outside the blue paint of Boston goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

With Vancouver trailing 2-0, Boeser scored the first Vancouver goal at 12:49 of the third period before Filip Hronek knotted the score with 1:11 left in regulation.

Miller had three assists and Thatcher Demko made 20 saves as Vancouver snapped a four-game losing streak.

Jesper Boqvist and Danton Heinen scored for Boston, which had to settle for a fifth consecutive game that ended in overtime or a shootout (2-0-3).

Swayman made 36 saves, including 15 in the third period.

Vancouver had a 39-22 shot advantage. Boeser's deciding goal was the only shot for either team in overtime.

The first of Vancouver's two third-period goals came at 12:49. Boeser slipped a quick-strike shot inside Swayman's short-side post from the left circle off an offensive zone faceoff win.

Following a Miller feed, Hronek's game-tying goal came on a slapper from the center point.

Boston was called for too many men on the ice at 1:09 of the third, and the ensuing power play led to the deciding goal.

Boqvist put the Bruins in front at 5:27 of the middle frame. Justin Brazeau won a puck battle after a faceoff win and sprung his linemate for an opening goal on a breakaway.

Boston's lead doubled at 11:15 as Heinen put home a goal at the net front, following up Trent Frederic's wraparound attempt across to the right post.

Boston held a slim 10-9 shot advantage in the first, which included parts of the first three of its four unsuccessful power plays on the night.
