Canucks rally to take shocking 3-1 series lead over Predators

How are the Vancouver Canucks up 3-1 in this series?

They have used three goalies — each has won a game — and have a combined 32 shots on goal in the last two games ... both wins.

Their 4-3 overtime victory over the Nashville Predators on Sunday was at least as improbable and probably more so.

Brock Boeser scored twice with this contest's goalie — Arturs Silovs — pulled for the extra attacker in the final 2:49. Boeser's tying tally came with eight seconds remaining in regulation to complete his hat trick.

Elias Lindholm then scored just 1:02 into the OT to stun the Predators and their fans at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The Canucks now head back home to Rogers Arena with the chance to end the series Tuesday in Game 5 at 10 p.m. ET.

Silovs made 27 saves as the surprise starter after Casey DeSmith, who played Games 2 and Game 3 because starter Thatcher Demko is out with an injury, was not available Sunday after winning the first playoff game of his career on Friday night.

Boeser's hat trick — the first for Vancouver in the playoffs since 1996, when Trevor Linden did it — gave him four straight Canucks goals going back top the second marker in their 2-1 win Friday.

Of course, his streak was broken by Lindholm's OT winner. Boeser certainly doesn't mind.

J.T. Miller assisted on Boeser's four goals after scoring the first goal on Friday night himself.

Nashville had a chance to clinch things on Sunday before Boeser's late heroics. With the Canucks net empty, Colton Sissons hit the goal post on a backhand shot from the left circle.
