Dylan Strome had a goal and two assists for the Washington Capitals, who scored five unanswered goals to rally for a 5-2 win against the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Friday.

Hendrix Lapierre, Tom Wilson and Max Pacioretty each had two assists for the Capitals, who are 5-1-1 in their past seven games. Charlie Lindgren made 22 saves.

Owen Tippett had a goal and an assist, Morgan Frost had two assists and Samuel Ersson made 16 saves for the Flyers, who have lost five of seven.

Bobby Brink gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead at 1:52 of the first period. Lindgren made a save on Frost from the left side off a 2-on-1 but the rebound went to the slot, where an onrushing Brink pushed it into the net with Lindgren unable to get back in time.

Tippett received a pass from Egor Zamula in the left circle on the power play and beat a screened Lindgren far side to make it 2-0 at 18:23.

After being outshot 11-5 in the first period, the Capitals took control in the second.

Ovechkin cut it to 2-1 at 4:34. Lapierre won the faceoff and Wilson quickly sent a short pass over to Ovechkin, who snapped it from high in the left circle past Ersson's glove.

The goal was Ovechkin's 145th career goal in March, surpassing Wayne Gretzky for most by any player in the month in NHL history.

Sonny Milano tied it 2-2 at 9:55, getting his stick on a bouncing puck on the doorstep and lifting it over Ersson's left shoulder.

John Carlson put the Capitals ahead 3-2 when he tucked in a wraparound on his backhand at 17:45.

Anthony Mantha was all alone in front on the power play to slip a feed from Strome five-hole on Ersson for a 4-2 Washington lead at 6:04 of the third period.

Strome connected on a rebound short side from low in the right circle to extend it to 5-2 at 15:38.
