The 2023 NHL Draft prospect is the third Steel alum to win the award, joining Drew LeBlanc and Andy Miele.

Chicago Steel alum Adam Fantilli won the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the best player in college hockey, on Friday.

Fantilli, a projected top-three pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, led the NCAA in scoring (65 points) and points per game (1.81). The freshman forward's 30 goals tied with Western Michigan senior forward Jason Polin for the NCAA lead. Fantilli earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors and was named the Big Ten Tournament Most Oustanding Player.

Fantilli is the third Steel alum to win the award, joining forwards Drew LeBlanc (2013) and Andy Miele (2011). Fantilli played for Chicago from 2000-2002, winning the Clark Cup and being named Clark Cup Playoffs MVP in 2021.
