Connor McDavid scored at 1:17 of overtime to give the Edmonton Oilers a 4-3 victory over the visiting Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night.

McDavid, who also had an assist in the contest, took a pass from Darnell Nurse near the blue line and then burst down the right wing and around defenseman Alex Pietrangelo before flipping a shot into the top right corner of the net for his league-leading 16th goal of the season.

Leon Draisaitl had a goal and an assist and Zach Hyman and Warren Foegele also scored goals for Edmonton. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had three assists and Nurse added a pair of assists for the Oilers, who were playing their first overtime game of the season. Stuart Skinner made 31 saves.

Mark Stone scored twice including once on a penalty shot and Keegan Kolesar also scored for Vegas which had a six-game road winning streak snapped. Shea Theodore added a pair of assists and Adin Hill finished with 19 saves.

Edmonton took a 1-0 lead at the 1:56 mark of the first period when Foegele took a pass from Nugent-Hopkins in front of the net and tucked in a backhand shot around Hill for his third goal of the season.

Kolesar tied it near the end of the period when Theodore's wrist shot from the right point caromed off his helmet and behind Skinner for his third goal of the season.

Vegas then took a 2-1 lead early in the second period when Stone, hooked by Ryan Murray on a breakaway, came down the slot and fired a penalty shot through Skinner's pads. It was the first penalty shot of Stone's career.

Draisaitl tied it midway through the period with his 10th goal of the season, taking a Nurse pass near the bottom of the right circle and then firing a wrist shot over Hill and inside the far post.

Edmonton regained the lead 38 seconds into the third period on a power-play goal by Hyman, who one-timed a crossing pass from McDavid from the left side of the net for his ninth goal of the season.

Stone tied it at the 11:33 mark when he snapped a wrist shot from the high slot through traffic and past Skinner's glove side for his seventh goal of the season.
