The Arizona Coyotes announced that defenseman Travis Dermott has suffered an upper-body injury and is listed as out “week-to-week.”

Now, while it is not clear exactly where he is injured, Dermott was hit in the left hand by a shot from Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers in their game on Nov. 7.

Immediately, Dermott skated right towards the bench and went to the Coyotes locker room in the third period.

It has not confirmed or denied this situation against the Kraken was where this problem arose.

Additionally, this is the second-straight year that Dermott has suffered a substantial injury.

Last year, Dermott was limited to playing just 11 games for the Vancouver Canucks after dealing with lingering concussion symptoms.

So far, Dermott has suited up for 10 contests, recorded an assist, blocked 14 shots and has five hits while on Arizona.

Furthermore, Dermott holds a plus/minus rating of -4, taken 13 shots and averaged 17:29 time-on-ice.

Moving forward, Coyotes defenseman Josh Brown will take Dermott’s place on the third defensive pair alongside Troy Stecher.

Also, Arizona called up minor league defenseman Michael Kesselring from the AHL affiliate of the ‘Yotes, the Tucson Roadrunners, as a corresponding move.
