The Arizona Coyotes have signed forward Alex Chiasson to a professional tryout, CapFriendly reported Wednesday.

Chiasson, 31, scored 13 goals and 22 points in 67 games with the Vancouver Canucks in the 2021–22 regular season.

This will be the fourth professional tryout of Chiasson’s career. The 6-foot-4, 208-pound winger is three-for-three thus far at parlaying PTOs into NHL contracts.

After stints with the Dallas Stars, Ottawa Senators, and Calgary Flames, Chiasson joined the Washington Capitals on a PTO in 2017. He earned a spot with the Capitals out of camp and ended up winning the Stanley Cup with the team.

The next summer, Chiasson attended Edmonton Oilers camp on a tryout. He snagged another contract, ultimately found a niche on a line with Connor McDavid, and scored 22 goals in his first year of three in Edmonton.

Finally, after his time in Edmonton came to a close, Chiasson received another PTO — this time, with Vancouver. Once again, he subsequently signed a contract with the team and enjoyed another reasonably productive season as a bottom-six forward.

Chiasson now joins a Coyotes team badly in need of depth scoring options. He’ll likely compete with Christian Fischer, Nick Ritchie, Liam O’Brien, Andrew Ladd (if healthy), and former Oilers teammate Zack Kassian for ice-time in the desert.

In 631 career NHL regular-season games with Dallas, Ottawa, Calgary, Washington, Edmonton, and Vancouver, Chiasson has scored 114 goals and 224 points.
