The Dallas Stars acquired defenseman Chris Tanev from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a second-round pick, a prospect and a conditional draft pick, according to Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli.

The 34-year-old Tanev has been the subject of trade rumours for most of the 2023-24 season and was widely expected to be moved ahead of the March 8 NHL Trade Deadline.

Through 56 games this season, Tanev has one goal and 13 assists for 14 points, averaging 19:50 of ice time. In 14 NHL seasons with the Flames and Vancouver Canucks, Tanev has 32 goals and 153 assists for 185 points through 773 career games.
