The New Jersey Devils have placed 34-year-old Keith Kinkaid on waivers.

If Kinkaid clears, he will be assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) after signing an AHL deal with them in the offseason.

In September, Kinkaid signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $350,000 at the AHL level.

Kinkaid spent the 2022-23 campaign split between the Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche. Kinkaid appeared in one game with the Bruins, where he earned a victory and one game with the Avalanche. He primarily spent time in the AHL, split between the Colorado Eagles and Providence Bruins.

The Farmingville, New York product signed with New Jersey as a free agent on April 18, 2011. He logged his NHL debut on March 5, 2013, vs. the Tampa Lightning. Kinkaid returned for a second stint with New Jersey after spending nine seasons with the club from 2011-12 to 2018-19. He earned 64 wins in 151 career games played with the Devils, which ranks him sixth all-time in franchise history. During the 2017-18 campaign, he posted a career-high 26 wins as the Devils clinched a playoff birth.

Kinkaid has appeared in 169 games throughout his career with the Devils, Bruins, Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers, compiling a 70-58-21 career record. At the AHL level, Kinkaid has totaled 108 wins in 226 career games with the Eagles, Bruins, Laval Rocket, Hartford Wolf Pack and Albany Devils. While playing for the Devils, he posted 69 wins and 10 shutouts in 143 regular-season games.

On the international stage, Kinkaid represented the United States at the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) 2016 World Championship, where he helped the U.S. capture a bronze medal. He posted a 6-2-0 record in nine games with a 2.29 goals against average (GAA) and a .912 save percentage.
