The Kansas City Mavericks have announced that they have re-signed forward Cole Coskey for the 2024-25 ECHL season.
OHL Career
Cole Coskey did not go the collegiate route in his career, instead, he played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Saginaw Spirit. Coskey started his OHL career in the 2015-16 season. Through his five seasons with the Spirit, he played in 302 games where he had 106 goals and 129 assists for 235 points. He had 133 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +20. He played three seasons in the postseason with the Spirit, playing in 21 games where he had five goals and five assists for ten points. He had 16 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -6.
Professional Career
After completing the 2019-20 season in the OHL, Coskey signed in the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, now the Bridgeport Islanders, where he spent two seasons. He played in a total of 41 games, where he had three goals and seven assists for ten points. He had 12 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -6. Coskey ended the 2021-22 season in the ECHL, with the Worcester Railers playing in a total of 35 games. He had a total of ten goals and 23 assists for 33 points with ten penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -2.
Coskey then joined the Kansas City Mavericks for the 2022-23 season. He played in 56 games with the Mavericks where he had 20 goals and 16 assists for 36 points. He had 29 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of 0. Coskey also spent some time in the AHL on loan to the Milwaukee Admirals, playing in three games where he did not register a point or penalty minutes and had a plus/minus of -1.
Coskey re-signed with the Mavericks for the 2023-24 season where he played in 68 games. He had 22 goals and 38 assists for 60 points. He also had 12 penalty minutes with a plus/minus of +14. Coskey has played in the playoffs with the Mavericks in both seasons, playing in a total of 26 playoff games. He has five goals and 11 assists for 16 points. He has four penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -6.
Cole Coskey will be joining the Mavericks in the 2024-25 season for his third season with the Mavericks and his fifth professional season.
