Another Oilers forward is on their way to Bakersfield.

Hours after the Oilers assigned Tyler Benson there, the team loaned Brad Malone to the Condors. He took the warmups with the team Thursday night.

Malone, 32, played in six games with the Oilers this year and most notably, had a goal and an assist in a March 9 comeback win over the Washington Capitals.

“I think I’m still trying to be a good soldier, to be honest. just with the role I’m in and the situation’s that I’m in, I’ll just go back to it: work and detail,” said Malone after that game. “I’m just trying to put my best foot forward and put the team first. It’s just work and attitude, I guess. you can describe it as a soldier, but that’s just the role I’m in, and really, I relish it. I enjoy it. It has been a lot of fun.”

Malone looked solid in this six-game stint. He played a physical brand of hockey laying 17 hits and was a strong forechecker.

The Condors captain now returns to Bakersfield where they are loading up for a playoff push. Malone will undoubtedly be looked to as a leader for that club.
