No need to worry; help is on the way for the Philadelphia Flyers! Ok… not really.

On Monday night, Drunk Gritty (@DrunkGritty00) shared a video on X/Twitter that Flyers legend Kimmo Timonen first posted to Instagram, wherein Timonen is in a Flyers Training Center locker room with Brian Boucher and Scott Hartnell, presumably getting some skating in for the upcoming Flyers Alumni Game.

“I think the comeback is canceled,” Timonen joked in the video.

Then, from his Kime4Kids charity account, Timonen replied to Drunk Gritty on X with some more banter, including a message for Danny Briere.

“I think I could still play the power play for the Flyers. I will fix the issues. Any offers Danny B?” the former Flyers rearguard cracked with a laughing emoji at the end.

Then, the Flyers Alumni X account chimed in, saying “You’re on PP2 tomorrow night against Tampa. We’d ask if you’re up for PK and 14 mins at ES, too, but we think we know what that answer would be.”

Timonen doubled down on his jokes, adding “Only in [sic] two conditions We play full 2 minutes every time and I get to pick my PP unit : Me running it from top of course Frosty boy on the right All star [Konecny] on left Tippett in middle Couts front of net We just feeding each other one timers nonstop Easy fix,”

The Flyers have actually gotten some strong power play production from their blueliners as of late. Jamie Drysdale’s first Flyers goal came on the power play on Tuesday night, and Egor Zamula has five power play points since Jan. 6.

Timonen, of course, scored 270 points in 519 games during his seven years in Philadelphia. Over half of those points – 150 to be exact – came with the man advantage. I think the 48-year-old knows a thing or two about scoring on a power play.
