We have more Philadelphia Flyers contract news, folks! The Flyers have signed center Ryan Poehling to a two-year contract extension worth $3.8 million ($1.4 million AAV).

NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Jordan Hall confirmed initial reports of Poehling’s contract, and the extension has already been registered by our salary cap and roster partners, PuckPedia.

Poehling, 24, was scheduled to become a restricted free agent this coming offseason. Playing on his third team in as many years, Poehling previously expressed his desire to remain in Philadelphia with the Flyers to Philly Hockey Now.

It’s just, you always want an opportunity to prove yourself, and I’ve gotten that chance and I’ve done well with it,” Poehling said of his time with the Flyers so far. “For me, I’m not taking it for granted. I just got to keep moving forward and do the best that I can.”

“I love it here and I love playing here, so I hope [Philadelphia] can be [home],” Poehling said.

After reportedly signing Owen Tippett to a massive eight-year extension earlier on Friday, general manager Danny Briere and the Flyers are quickly taking care of their pending RFAs. Every forward currently on the Flyers’ roster is under contract for the 2024-25 season, but this does not include Bobby Brink. Brink, 22, will be an RFA this summer, and may need to shoot the lights out with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL to increase his bargaining power with the front office.

Brink is now the only forward without a contract for next season.

Some of Philadelphia’s other notable free agents this offseason include Sean Walker, Nick Seeler, Egor Zamula, Adam Ginning, and Ivan Fedotov. Fedotov is probably a lost cause at this point, but the other four have very real chances of staying with the organization beyond 2024.
