According to Michael Russo of the Athletic, former Pittsburgh Penguins player and front office executive Bill Guerin is being investigated for alleged verbal abuse.

Guerin played 95 games with the Penguins and was a huge piece of the 2009 Stanley Cup championship before being hired as a player development coach in 2011.

Prior to the start of the 2014-15 season, Guerin was promoted to assistant general manager where he stuck until being hired as general manager of the Minnesota Wild in 2019.

It’s with the Wild that this investigation on Guerin has been opened; Russo states that multiple team and league sources have confirmed to the Athletic that Guerin is at the center of this investigation.

The incident is believed to have occurred in late November and was soon reported to the Wild’s human resources team.

Russo also states that Guerin did not attend the recent board of governors meeting in Seattle and was not with the team on their most recent road trip.

The Wild have been under quite a bit of turmoil recently as they agreed to mutually part ways with assistant general manager Chris O’Hearn following a separate investigation earlier in the week.

Head coach Dean Evason was fired from his position at the end of November.
