Either Toronto Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas has an excellent poker face or he genuinely disagrees with the recent rhetoric surrounding the play of goaltenders Jack Campbell and Petr Mrazek.

When Dubas spoke at a media availability Friday afternoon from Hamilton, Ont., site of Toronto’s March 13 Heritage Classic outdoor game against the Buffalo Sabres, questions about goaltending were inevitable. Since Jan. 1, the Leafs sit 27th in the NHL with an .887 team save percentage. With the March 21 trade deadline looming, any decisions made about whom Toronto trusts in goal for the stretch run must be made soon.

Judging by Dubas’ comments Friday, there’s no plan to pursue a big-name upgrade over Campbell or Mrazek.

“I’m not concerned about either one of them,” he told reporters before adding that he believes team defense is a larger area of concern, particularly with top-four defenseman Jake Muzzin out with a concussion.

It remains to be seen what Dubas will do if his goalies struggle for another week, however.
