Golden Knights sign Robert Hagg and Callahan Burke

Hagg spent the 2023-24 season with the Anaheim Ducks and their AHL affiliate the San Diego Gulls after signing a one-year, $775,000 contract with Anaheim last summer. While with the Ducks, Hagg appeared in five games and did not register a point. He appeared in 47 games with the Gulls racking up three goals and 12 points.

The Philadelphia Flyers originally selected Hagg in the second round (No. 41 overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. The Uppsala, Sweden product made his NHL debut with the Flyers in the 2016–17 season Through 343 career games over parts of seven NHL seasons with the Flyers, Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, Detroit Red Wings and Ducks, Hagg has collected 16 goals and 63 points. He’s added three assists in 14 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

Burke spent the 2023-24 season with the Carolina Hurricanes and the Colorado Avalanche’s AHL affiliate the Colorado Eagles, he appeared in one NHL game. Burke was dealt to Carolina last fall, but due to no AHL affiliate for the Canes, Burke stayed with the Eagles for the remainder of the season. While with the Eagles, Burke racked up 16 goals and 39 points in 57 games and added three points in three Calder Cup playoff contests.

After four years at the University of Notre Dame, which included serving as captain in 2019-20, the Boxborough, Massachusetts, product signed his first pro contract in 2020, where he spent two years playing solely with the Eagles. Burke then made his NHL debut last year, recording no points in two games.
