On Tuesday night the Nashville Predators defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in overtime by a score of 3-2, but the win wasn't without controversy according to the Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan who felt the officials missed a call in overtime.

While there was clear contact between Erik Karlsson, Ryan O'Reilly, and Sidney Crosby in the overtime sequence, the question of the "no call" seems to come down to who initiated the contact and what each player was trying to accomplish in that moment.

According to some in the Penguins sphere, O'Reilly was intentionally setting a pick play while many in Nashville saw O'Reilly battling to stay onside against Erik Karlsson who held O'Reilly's stick. Crosby initiated the contact with O'Reilly, but Sullivan felt it was a missed call and was clearly not satisfied that he didn't get a thorough explanation from the officiating crew.

After the win, the Predators moved to 11-10 and currently sit in a wildcard position in the Western Conference after extending their win streak to six games. Tomorrow night they play the Minnesota Wild and former head coach and new bench boss of the Wild John Hynes. The Penguins will move on to face the Tampa Bay Lightning on the road.
